Kyoto Reasonable Affordable Convenient Hotels

With abundant world heritage sites, staying within Kyoto will make visitors feel like they have traveled in time to ancient Japan. Kyoto is one of the most popular spots in Japan for both international and local Japanese travelers, and with the recent tourism surge, Kyoto hotels and other types of accommodation have become short supplied. I strongly recommend travelers who have their main focus in Kyoto to start planning and reserve hotels at least 3 to 4 months prior to the travel dates. I have listed some recommended hotels and other types of accommodations at convenient locations in Kyoto, comparing hotel prices and booking ahead are the key to enjoyable vacation in Kyoto and other areas in Japan.
Finding a conveniently located hotel in Kyoto is essential to traveling in this ancient city

Tips and Recommendations
1. Compare prices on reliable hotel comparison websites such as Hotelscombined, Trivago, or TripAdvisor for the best deals on accommodation in Kyoto Japan. Kyoto hotels are short supplied, compare as many website as possible. Agoda and Hotels.com are also good choices for hotel booking due to their large volume of inventory.

2. Start booking for hotels 3 to 4 months prior to your travel dates; Reasonable Kyoto hotels are high in demand, even local Japanese business travelers have difficulty booking reasonable hotels due to the recent tourism surge from Asian, North American and European visitors.

3. Consider breaking up your hotel stay to 2 to 3 nights in order to find more vacancy in affordable Kyoto hotels. For example, if you are planning to stay in Kyoto for 5 nights, consider staying at one hotel for 3 nights and staying at another hotel for the remaining 2 nights. Any 5-night consecutive hotel stay in Kyoto is usually difficult to come by due to the high demand and short supply.

4. Staying at nearby cities such as Osaka is also a great option for visitors to Kyoto. Osaka is about 26 minute away by commuter train. The cost of train ride is about 560 yen.

5. High seasons beside June to August for Kyoto is usually cherry blossom season in early April and autumn color season in mid November to late November. I would recommend booking your hotel 4 to 5 months prior to your popular season travel dates.

6. My preference will always be budget business hotel at convenient locations. Majority of my recommendations for hotels reflect my preference, however, there are other accommodation options such as guest houses, hostels, and authentic Ryokan inns.
